This fun new arrangement of “Good King Wenceslas” is written in Dorian mode, which is equivalent to the natural minor scale but with a major sixth (“Scarborough Fair” is a good example of this). The unusual scale will grow on you, and as the rhythmic energy builds throughout the piece, it pulls you into its celebratory dance before relaxing to a close. 5 pages.
