Written as part of the Family Suite, this piece is dedicated to my daughter, Kerri. One of the great things about Kerri is her contrasting layers of personality. As a child, she was always mature beyond her years, demonstrating the responsibility, dependability, and drive to succeed more commonly associated with an oldest child. And yet, as a teenager her bedroom featured a loft bed with a slide, a giant smiley-face mural on the wall, and an assortment of Care Bears and Sesame Street characters. So the image of a chorus of frogs singing a lullaby to their little ones as darkness steals over the pond seemed very “Kerri” to me. 3 pages. Performance time: approximately 3:45.
