Although this hymn is traditionally done in a major key, this piano solo arrangement starts out by presenting the melody in a minor key to portray the difficulties of life’s journey, then transitions to a major key as we reach the end of our mortal struggles and are welcomed home with a loving, joyful reunion. This arrangement received the Award of Merit in the 2014 Church Music Submission. 5 pages. Performance time: approximately 3:30. Included in the Eventide songbook. Early intermediate arrangement also available.
